Winter Fun
« on: August 28, 2011, 09:11:17 AM »

Winter was not Cassandra's favourite time of year by any stretch. It was bitterly cold and the snow was a pain to walk in. Well the latter wasn't too much of a problem most of the time, she could fly afterall. Although this journey didn't really warrent the use of her wings at the moment. So for now, she was walking with her fellows.

"Roll on the spring," she complained a little, hands in her pockets and flexing her wings a little. They were feeling the cold, even though the rest of her was generally warm enough.

She had dressed herself in some of the warmest clothing she owned. It would be foolhardy to have not in this weather. Her outfit, exept her shoes, were several shades of green and more importantly warm. Her light green t-shirt was hidden underneath a warm wollen jumper. Her green coat buttoned up as far as it would go. On her feet were a pair of green socks, hidden in a pair of brown boots. Her hands sported a pair of green gloves. Despite the protection given by her attire, she still felt a slight chill.

At least the place that they were heading was nice. Anca Lake was part of Lord Alucard's domain. It was a place that she enjoyed to relax, even in the cold. Despite her complaints it really was worth the visit. She rubbed her gloved hands together a little before looking to the others with her.

This visit wasn't due to be one of relaxation on her part at least, she couldn't account for what anyone else was thinking. The ice that formed over the lake needed to be broken up to allow free passage once more. Fair dues to the inhabitants of the lake, they had to be built for this kind of weather in order to live in there. Despite the cold and ice, it was their home afterall and they would have to give them a helping hand.

Nico wore snow boots and a coat, but it was not because she wanted to or needed to. No, it was mostly to make his road-mates feel a little better about their own intolerance to the cold. She could walk through this snow barefoot and be perfectly fine. Hell, she could probably whip out her dick and shake it around and still sing a tune of happiness. She was a frozen-half, after all. Sometimes she felt as though her very core were made of ice.

Though she knew she had no reason to be cocky. Come the summer heat she would likely be echoing the wicked witch, complaining she were melting in even the mildest of heat. So she trekked along, her hands in her pockets, keeping silent on the poor fae's dislike of the cold, knowing all too well it could easily be used against her in a few months.

"It'll be over soon enough," Nico offered, smiling toward Cassandra and trying to appear somewhat sympathetic. "All we'll need is for me to drop a few glaciers onto the surface and we'll be good to go!" Nico could not summon glaciers. She knew that and so did Cassandra, but a little joking never hurt anyone.

The cold warranted a little extra clothing, and so this was one of the rare occasions that the incubus known as Nathaniel or Natrix was actually sporting a proper amount of clothing. As he was used to frolicking in the near nude he did not mind a little cold, but the winter air chilled him when he had stepped out of the castle in just his leather shorts and a devious smirk.

It was this (and the fear that some of his own vital parts might freeze off) that prompted him to pull on his slacks, shoes, shirt and over coat, all of which were fairly well tailored. Though he did not do it often, he knew how to dress himself like a proper gentlemen.

At present, he was using his wings to carry himself over the snow, they were leathery and a little stiff from the cold, but the exercise made him feel good, and most importantly his nice shoes were not being soiled by snow. Natrix had never owned nice things before arriving in Castlevania, and so he felt a need to take special care of the clothing that his master had gifted him.

His breaths made clouds of steam before him, and he found this a little amusing as he glided slowly over the ground, flying less than a foot about the snow covered surface.

Natrix blinked slowly, his dark eyes scanning the snow. He could see the shuffle like trail that his dear pet had left in the snow, and so he peered behind him, watching as the creature mindlessly followed him.

"Nibbler, you naughty little thing," he called, tail flicking slightly in amusement, "dragging your master out in the cold to search for your arm!" His voice was very sing-song, and flicked around a little in the air, raising away from the ground more so and spinning absently as he waited for his pet to catch up to him.

"I don't see your arm anywhere, are you sure you lost it by the lake?" He questioned, scanning along the snow again, and spotting other monsters seemingly making their way towards the lake.

"Rawgaahaawah," responded the zombie, whom was missing it's right arm.

"Alright, if you say so," the demon murmured, wondering what the other monsters were up to.

A merman also travelled with the group, annoyance written all over his face. He really, really, really disliked the cold weather and the fact that the nearby bodies of water all froze up, preventing him from swimming. He also didn't like how he was chosen for this task... Seriously how was he excepted to break ice apart.

"It better be thin ice..." he thought angerily to himself as the fae in front of him complained a bit.

Upon hearing the demon's comment, the merman silently shook his head. "Bull..." he thought in the piracy of his own skull.

He continued to walk silently, doing little to add to the conversation.

Cassandra glanced back to Nico as she heard the woman speak. Despite the fact that Nico was a specialist with ice based magic, she knew that glaciers were beyond her. But it didn't stop the Fae giving a chuckle towards the woman and gave a huge grin. "Only a glacier? There was me thinking it would be an ice-mountain or at least some shaped blocks."

Rubbing her arms a little as they continued to walk, she looked to their merman companion. He looked so happy...not. Cassandra thought that he maybe happy that they were going to break up the ice. Maybe the man would be able to swim in such cold waters?

"Oh, shaped blocks I could do," Nico mused, folding her arms and thinking of different things she might make her ice to form into.

"Something sharp would be good, wouldn't you think?" she said. "Like a starfish, or a dong. Those are pointy!"

Her gaze shifted downward to the lake, which was close now. "It does look so pretty like this. It's a shame the little waterlings need to swim around to survive and all."

Natrix and his pet continued to observe the other castle dwellers at a distance, the incubus clearly intruiged by the sight of the odd arrangement of creatures that had formed a party.

"I wonder what they're doing," mused the demon, his wings flapping slightly as he continued to float along through the air, occasionally circling this or that before making his way back to the path that the zombie had earlier made.

"Waghwaghrargh," the zombie grunted, as it tripped in the snow - landing face down and struggling to rise.

"Hm, I suppose asking would indeed be the easiest way to find out!" Natrix chimed, then surged forwards, his large, leathery wings flapping harder as he zoomed towards them.

The zombie, face down in the snow, managed to raise the one arm that was still attached to it's body, and waved to it's master, whom was long gone. Nibbler let out a grunt, slowly managing to bring himself to his decayed feet.

"Helllooooo!" Natrix greeted, his tone as sensual and seductive as ever. He had 'emerged' behind Cassie, having approached the group from behind, though he still did not allow himself to touch down in the snow. His shoes were just too pretty to get wet!

The merman continued to follow his companions to the lake, just wanting to get this over with. It was cold and he couldn't even swim in such cold waters anyways.

The ice user seemed to think the lake as pretty. The merman argeed a bit in silence but again want to get this done and over with. The sooner he got back to the warmth of the castle, the better.

Then some incubus, based on the seductive tone used, swooped in and greeted them.

"I swear..." the merman thought, annoyed. "If he joins us just to be annoying... I'm pushing him into the lake. Through the ice if I have to!"

Cassandra figured that Nico would be able to do something shaped. But she had not expected the woman to mention a dong. She had to supress a snicker at the thought of that shape, penetrating the ice. It was just pure wrong to even think about it like that. As the lake was in view, Cassie smiled. It really was pretty frozen over like that, but the creatures did need to survive.

She opened her mouth to agree, but didn't get the chance as a voice startled her. It was smooth and sleek and annoyingly seductive, but still caused her to yell a little in suprise. The voice had come from behind her, but that wasn't the worst of it. It was who the voice belonged to that was the worst part.

She had seen this guy around the castle, usually dressed in very little bar his leather underwear. When you were only 3feet high, it was hard to not notice it when walking past him. To her he was nothing but a little pervert, but with some sort of attraction. As he came into view, she gave a slight hiss, fully expecting to see him with little on as normal. Although much to her suprise he was actually clothed. It seemed even he wasn't as stupid to come out unprepared.

"Well that has to be a first," she raised an eyebrow, folding her arms a little. "You with clothes on? May I also add that if you come up behind me like that ever again, I may just have to kick your butt around a bit."

A particularly smooth and familiar sound caught Nico's attention, and as she turned slightly where she stood, it became apparent why it was known to her. She smiled at the demon as Cassie expressed clear displeasure for the creature having sneaked up on them.

Nico laughed lightly at the fairy's sarcasm and how she was going on about the incubus wearing clothes. She was also making threats against the poor thing for having sneaked up on her. Leave it to Cassie.

"Hi Natrix!" Nico pipped, glad, unlike her companions, to see the demon. He was fun! "A first indeed, and I must admit, I rather prefer to gaze upon your gorgeous form without all these layers. What's wrong, Nat, my dear, can't handle the cold?"

The general consensus was that Natrix was not welcome to join then, but then, he was used to such treatment, it didn't really bother him, he just saw it as an opening to prod and poke at them further.

"Kick my butt?" He laughed a little at this, looking Cassie over mischievously, "I doubt you could even reach it, halfling," he teased, tail swishing around in a cat like manner. While the merman said nothing, he looked rather annoyed. The incubus simply grinned and turned to Nico, whom was pleasant as always.

"You flatter me," he responded, trying to sound modest though it was clear that he was indulging in Nico's little remark, "alas, us incubi are not so well equipped for the cold. And coming from the place that I come from, very, very warm, this is... Somewhat unpleasant. The first time I've seen snow, in fact, was when I first arrived here."

He was quiet a moment, stroking his chin as his large, leathery (tattered in places) wings flapped to keep him in the air.

"But, I had to come outside this time because my dear Nibbler lost his arm while he was out chasing snowflakes," he gestured a large hand in the direction of the shambling zombie that was slowly getting closer, "he asked me to give him a hand searching for it," his fingers rose to his lips, gently stifling a giggle as he enjoyed his little pun.

"Warawrghhhwaw," came the zombies 'voice,' his 'words' carrying on the wind.

"Oh, come on now, you would laugh at it to, if..." He cackled, "you hadn't lost your funny bone!"

Cassie glanced to Nico as she spoke. Her jaw nearly dropped. While she knew Nico, she didn't know her very well to understand if it was merely a joke or anything more serious. She was however leaning towards the former.

Cassie's eyes were soon back on Natrix, this guy was a tease and a half. That was part of what annoyed her. As he spoke to her, she scrunched up her nose a little in a disgruntled way. He was taller than her, but being small had it's own advantages. One day she would have to show the Incubi just how her smaller size could be put to advantages.

As she continued to watch him, it was clear he was revelaing in the way Nico had spoken to him. So the annoying guy couldn't stand the cold either? That wasn't too much of a suprise. Although she would have sworn that his reason would have been to do with flaunting his figure, amongst other things.

As he explained why he was out here, Cassie gave a roll of eyes. Bad puns, cold weather and the worlds possible greatest annoyance, well this day was not the best of them.

"You are more crazy than I first thought," Cassie spoke to him. "Maybe, just maybe after we've finished clearing the ice of the lake, we can find your pets arm?"

When the incubus wasn't looking, the merman cracked a smile at the fae's comment about kicking the incubus' butt. She might not be able to reach it but she was at groin level...

And the ice user's happy to see the incubus... Great...

Upon hearing the fact that the incubus couldn't stand the cold, the merman let an evil grin show on his face for a few seconds before his face went back to its annoyed look.

"Come on..." he thought. "Give me a reason..."

The merman finally spoke when the incubus made a couple puns. "Nice puns. A lot more bearable than you" he said. "Of course, this IS the first time we've met... And the last"

The merman then continued towards the lake without another word.

"You poor dear." Nico certainly felt bad for the incubus being out here, but it was his own fault for keeping such a brainless oaf for a pet, even if the creature was adorably cute in its own disgusting sort of way.

How does one lose an arm, anyway? she wondered, craning her head as she gazed at the armless zombie down a ways.

Cassie was begrudgingly agreeing to potentially help out Natrix, which pleased Nico. "That's the spirit!" she declared, though the sentiment was lost as their merman companion grumpily stalked away.

"Well there's a spoil sport if I ever did see one . . ."

Nico huffed. "Guess we ought to follow him. We do have a job to do, after all."

She cracked her knuckles. Her magic would be put to use quite soon!

Cassie gave a low whistle to herself as the Merman spoke to Nico. She had said everything in jest, she wasn't fully sure, but she did believe that what he had just said was not messing around. That had been more than a little harsh. It was enough to bring her own mood down a little. But not enough to smile back to Nico and give a nod to Natrix. Mainly because she now felt bad for teasing him as she had.

It was then that she started to walk after the merman, as per Nico's suggestion.

"Well I never," she stated. "Here was me thinking this was part team work. Even if team work means Nico having to do the breaking of the ice and me being here for moral support."

With a little thought she yelled a little forward. "Say Mr Merman. I don't think I met you before today either. I feel a little awkward having to call you Mr Merman. What is your name?"
